The Grypholump

"Once there was a Grypholump. Oh so very plump! It flittered all day, from near to far away."

It is a shy creature, of orange features, and wings of red flitting through the flower bed.

With small wings, and amazing ears that flap with a sound like tap tap tap. It flitters about with absolute precision, never once performing a juxtaposition.

It has a long tapered nose, and snake-like tongue that looks like a hose. It dips in flowers for the morning dew, especially loves that found in snapdragons so few!

It has very small hands, and twisty little feet that it uses when sleeping, upside down in the branches of willows weeping. It likes to sleep in trees, which is lucky, since it really hates fleas.

It also has a spiked tail, which can be very useful when dealing with the occasional curious snail.

The most curious of feature, in this funny little creature, is its hypno eyes that it uses to put folks to sleep, all the while making a strange little "peep"!

Few will see them, being tinny and shy. But if you look carefully, on full moon nights, you'll see them flitting through the sky in those very same heights.

If you are lucky enough to see a Grypholump, oh so very plump! Beware, not to stare! For its eye, is not so shy. One gaze and one peep, and you are off fast to sleep!
